SUMMER FUN GALORE

Hey, did you think we were gone? Not so, mates. We are smoothly sailing through long summer days and having fun to boost.

Here I give you some illustrated proof of all the things you can accomplish with a pinch of English and a lot of smiles.

make on-the-spot plans

swim, run, sleep, eat, dream, read, write, think, don’t think, don’t sweat, get tanned, do something new, smile at a stranger, have a shower, have a foamy bath, read more, travel, draw crazy pictures, make an exotic salad, eat brazil nuts, take a siesta during the hottest hours, toss a ring at a ring game, jump rope, watch a comedy on TV, find out about the largest insects in the world and then have a panic attack, get over your panic attack by watching some tornado videos on youtube, get awed at the wonders of the world, read a bit more, sleep another siesta, relax, don’t relax, do more…

See ya when the summer is over but still lingering in our mosaic minds. Kisses.

COME ALONG, OH LAZY SUMMER DAYS

KIDS are out of school and they have the long lazy days of July and August ahead. They could spend their summer days in front of the TV or your children could be using their imaginations to create projects that are a reflection of their own unique talents.

SUMMER TIME WITH ENGLISH

We won’t be getting bored this summer. Here at LCT IDIOMAS  we are having fun all throughout July. Starting next week, our summer courses gather children of all ages for a lot of fun and English activities.

I’M BOOKED TILL SUMMER

Last week’s event was a total success. Lots of beautiful books are being piled on tables just for our perusal.

Are you one of the lucky students who got to listen to Josie reading a story out loud? Oh, it’s fun reading this way. And all those cute pictures. I even saw a dog luring a mouse with a book. These things only happen in… well, in Book Land, of course.

By the way, what are you reading nowadays? What? WHAT? You dare say that you’re not reading anything at all? Nothing? What about a magazine? A comic? A tiny ad on a wall, maybe. A doctor’s prescription, perhaps?

Phew, at least you’re reading something right now. ME. Well, that’s not enough, let me tell you. So go find a book right away. Anyhow, I’d love to know what you’ve been reading so far. I can read you like a book

HEY FELLOWS, BOOK DAY is coming! 

We are so proud to usher in this beautiful celebration of all that is creative and wonderful about words. Next April, 23rd is a day to talk about books, reading, the beauty of words and how we can weave them into a tapestry that we can see and feel through our imagination.

Please welcome this year’s Book Day joining us in a little book party of our own. Bring a book you have at home. Mind you, it must be written in English. For a little while, we would like to set up a library at LCT IDIOMAS.

If each one of you brings an English book, we can all together make an eclectic, colourful and unique mosaic of what books and reading them mean to us as a collective mind.

BRING A BOOK to the academy. Here you will find that many of you classmates have already started bringing in their precious books. That way we will be able to do some reading all together. As if we were a big family bound like books by our love for them. Teachers have brought books from their countries of origin. Come and have a look!

  Tomorrow is Wednesday and we’re going to the cinema. All Activate levels who won the contest have a date with the seventh art.

where? YELMO CINEPLEX IDEAL, near Sol.

how? you are walking from LCT IDIOMAS to the theatre, along with a couple of teachers.

film performance? 8 p.m.

the film lasts two hours

If you want to be picked up at the end of the film, you should tell your parents.

The rest of the contest winners will be awarded with a special class including film and popcorn at the academy. Teachers will inform you of the exact date.
